  3. What is the best way to start using the software?
All of DSI’s software comes with a quick start manual which is designed to get you up and running as quickly as possible. 4. My software keeps asking me to select a demonstration mode. What is wrong?
First, make sure that you have your Software Authorization Key plugged into the computer. If you are using a parallel port style Key, please click on here and follow the steps in this guide .

  5. Why can't I import .jpg or .bmp graphics into the TEBBS or TextPro Sr.?
The TEBBS and the TextPro Sr. use proprietary graphics that are bundled with the software. These 2 programs are unable to read any other format. If you would like to use your own graphics, please contact our sales staff about upgrading to the ELITE2000 or the ELITEGOLD.

  6. What options are available for connecting to another system using the DSI Software?
There are 2 methods that you can use to establish communications between machines using DSI software. The 1st and best way is to use your Local Area Network (LAN) connection or through a high speed internet connection. Both connections use an IP address to communicate. These provide you with fast and reliable communications. If you use the internet option, you must have an "always on" high speed connection. Click here to view the setup guide. The 2nd option is to use regular phone modems. This will enable you to dial a phone number to the other computer. If you have any questions on how to set up your communications, please contact our support staff by email or at 306-934-6884.

  7. How do you get a computer signal to broadcast onto your TV system?
You will need to get a VGA to NTSC video converter. These units will convert the signal of your VGA output on your computer to a signal that your TV can use. All of DSI’s complete systems come with a built in converter as standard equipment.

  8. What happens if I update my DSI software to the latest version, even though I still use Windows 98?
In most situations, updating to the latest version, while using the Windows 98 Operating System will be just fine. You can download a copy from here. However, if you are sending your data to another system to run on your channel, make sure that your operating systems match before updating the DSI Software.

  9. Why does the print button in the Text Editor do nothing?
The print button in the Text Editor does not work with all printers on the market. To ensure that you will be able to print your slide, please refer to this guide.

  10. I just received a brand new system. When I turn the unit on, the computer keeps beeping and does not start. What is wrong?
Please contact our support staff for your best solution. Generally, this problem can be fixed over the phone.

  11. I would like to edit my pages/slides without anyone seeing the changes on the air. Is there a way to do this?
Yes. You can purchase this option for all of our products. This will allow you to edit your changes while the channel is still running your information. Or you can also use another computer in your office to update information over the network or internet. Please contact either a sales representative or our support staff for more information.

  12. I currently use VCR's to run special video programs. Is there a more modern method than using VCR?
Yes. You can use video file playback (avi or mpeg videos) with the ELITE2000 or ELITEGOLD. You can also play mpeg2 files, provided you have a proper decoder on the system. Click here to purchase an mpeg2 decoder called Elecard. You may also use DVD playback. However, this requires special hardware and has limited capabilities. Please talk to our support staff for more information.

  13. My client would like to view his advertisement before I put it on the air. Can I email him the page?
Yes. View that page in the Text Editor, and then click on the Print to Clipboard button. Open a graphic program (such as Windows Paint). Click on the Edit menu button, and then select Paste. You can now save the document as a graphic, and email it.
